A Note From Me
Hi! I’m Amanda, The Wholistic Equestrian. I live in Western Australia with my beloved mare Lucy. As many of us do, I have a wonderful story of how Lucy came into my life and flipped it 180°, changing the path I thought I was rambling along on! Lucy came to me at a low point in my life when I was struggling with some personal demons.
From the day Lucy arrived, she began to put the broken bits and pieces of me back together, creating a whole person again. Lucy is an old soul in a young horse’s body. I firmly believe she was put on this earth to help people step into their power. She is the reason I own The Wholistic Equestrian. She quite literally smacked me in the face with it!
Shortly after I got Lucy, she experienced horrendous stifle lock, to the point where the vet would have to be called to sedate her and manually manipulate her to unlock. We began a long journey towards giving her, her power back, respecting her wishes, and helping her heal. My coach at the time recommended I use a herbal blend from Tory Park Herbs. It helped ease her pain and inflammation tremendously.
Nearly a year later, we moved agistment centres. Surprise, the property was managed by the owner of the herbal blends we had been using! As I said, Lucy quite literally smacks me in the face with these things! Shortly after the move, Lucy suffered a severed extensor tendon and a few months later received a traumatic injury to her fetlock.
Through her last injury, all the vet could offer was time and rest. I knew I needed to do more to help Lucy heal emotionally and physically. At the advice of a wholistic practitioner, I used herbs to aid in her healing, discomfort and pain. She responded well.
In August 2019, the opportunity to purchase Tory Park Herbs presented itself, and I jumped at the chance. After witnessing first-hand how powerful these mixes are and using them in my horse’s regular care, everything became clear.
I no longer sell these herbal blends but it is an imperative part of how our story began.
Lucy and I were put together to help horses and their humans get the wholistic support they need. I use my experience from my decade in social work, as well as the lessons Lucy continues to teach me to help horses and their owners find their own version of healing. The Wholistic Equestrian is the first step of many down this path.
Since 2019 we have grown as a business, expanding our services and support to include an array of wholistic care to both horses and their guardians. I invite you to follow us on this journey and explore the many options of wholistic care we offer. I’m sure you’ll find something that suits you and your horse.
**Please note I ALWAYS contact my vet when necessary, and these products are not intended to replace veterinary care.
